These chickens were raised at Polyface Farms where they had fresh air, fresh grass, and sunshine. They were able to scratch around in the dirt and add grass and bugs to their diet.
Why does free-range chicken cost so much more than conventionally raised poultry? These birds are active and run off their calories which makes them a healthier, happier animal but it takes longer for them to gain weight than your factory-farmed birds that are cooped up and raised in a controlled environment. Much loved and always in demand, our birds are truly pasture-raised and you can see and taste the difference in their meat. Housed in portable field shelters, our meat birds spend eight weeks outside doing what chickens do best - scratching the dirt, fertilizing the soil, and eliminating pests, adding fertilizer back on the earth, basically co-laboring with us on the farm.
This delicious white meat is so versatile. This tasty cut is the tenderloin which is right off of the breast. It requires verty little cooking time. It is a bonelss and skinless thin long strip of tender white meat. Works perfect for fajitas, wraps or can be chunked or shred it after it is cooked.
